Sovereign Foods is extremely passionate about its people and their development at all levels.
The development process has its origin in the performance worksheet of the individual, which is a document used to measure staff according to the expected results outlined for the position. One of the sections of the performance worksheet is the development plan. The latter addresses the competency gaps and helps to identify the initiatives needed in order to breach this gap. The contents of the development plan is used as a means to identify training gaps. Once the training gaps are identified, the suitable training courses/seminars are identified and set up for the individual to attend.
Proof of training is highly valued and we ensure that attendance registers and certificates of competency are filed accordingly. It can therefore be stated that recordkeeping is of such nature that it supports a well populated skills development plan. Training can take various forms, which includes but are not limited to in-house training, external training and on the job training.
Sovereign Foods also accommodates a number of apprentices across the Group. The company also has a driver academy and runs a graduate development training within the Agricultural Division.
Growth opportunities are ample for those employees who show interest, have a passion to succeed, and want to be the best at what they do.
